Avernas-le-Bauduin is a village in the Belgian province of Liège and a part of the municipality of Hannut, The village has an area of 4.88 km² and has over 700 inhabitants.
The village is bordered to the north by Walshoutem and Waasmont, to the east by Bertrée, to the south by Hannut, and to the west by Grand-Hallet and Thisnes. Avernas includes the hamlets and districts of Le Dorlain, Le Molhen, Aux Gallossis, La Paillasse, A la Croix la Cave, La Tombale, A la Justice de la Truie, Aux Coquineux, Al Biloque, Au Wingea, Aux Zabrées, Au Prédicateur and Tombeux. On the Ruisseau Henri-Fontaine, which crosses the village, several watermills used to be active. The relief is moderate: from 105 meters in the valley of Henri-Fontaine to 141 meters at the tumulus of Avernas.
