Landegem is a village in the Belgian province of East Flanders and a part of the municipality of Deinze. The village is located along the Schipdonk Canal, which approximately follows the course of the Old Kale. The patron saint of Landegem is Saint Blasius, to whom the church is dedicated.
In the 10th century, Landegem was mentioned in the Liber Traditionem of St. Peter's Abbey in Ghent as villa Landengehem. The majority belonged to the lord of Nevele during the feudal era.
