Bunsbeek is a municipality located in the Belgian province of Flemish Brabant. The municipality belongs to the municipality of Glabbeek. Bunsbeek was an independent municipality until the municipal reorganization of 1977. The village is the capital and largest town of the borough. The current name Bunsbeek has been preceded by, among others, Bunsbecce from 1125, Bunesbeck from 1178 and Bunesbecke from 1198. The name is a contraction of the word Buns or Bunes and the word brook. The origin of Buns is uncertain, explanations include the stream of Buna or of Buno.
