Gemmenich is a district of the Belgian municipality of Plombières at the tri-border point of Belgium, Germany, and the Netherlands. The location is situated in the Walloon Region. Gemmenich, which has a population of 2,500, lies about five kilometers west of Aachen and belongs to the Province of Liège.
Gemmenich is located at the foot of the Vaalserberg, at the summit of which is the tri-border point, simultaneously the highest point of the European Netherlands.
