Ligney is a village in the Belgian province of Liège and a part of the municipality of Geer. It was an independent municipality until it was added to the municipality of Geer during the merger of 1977.
Ligney is located in Dry Haspengouw to the southeast of the village center of Geer. The Jeker forms the northern boundary of the part of the municipality, which has an elongated shape in a north-south direction, and the old Roman road from Tongeren to Bavay forms the southern boundary. The village center of Ligney, located just south of the Jeker on the road from Omal to Geer, borders that of Darion. Ligney is an agricultural village mainly focused on arable farming and fruit cultivation. The village has no church and ecclesiastically belongs to the parish of Darion.
