Niel-bij-Sint-Truiden is a village in the Belgian province of Limburg, and a part of the municipality of Gingelom. It was an independent municipality until it was merged into the municipality of Gingelom in 1971.
Niel-bij-Sint-Truiden is located immediately southeast of the village center of Gingelom along the road to Borgworm. Niel has developed from a Haspengouw agricultural village into a residential village and has gradually merged with Gingelom due to ribbon development along the main road. There is also ribbon development along the road to the former station of Gingelom.
