Abolens is a village in the municipality of Hannut, in the Belgian province of Liège. The village has more than 300 inhabitants and is 271 hectares in size. The Jeker and Grande Bek rivers have their source on the territory of Abolens.
The village is first described in the year 1250, then still written as Abolenz, after the Germanic god Aboldus. During the French Revolution, the village was merged with Poucet. After Abolens regained its independence, Abolens was merged again with the village of Lens-Saint-Remy in 1822. In 1881 Abolens would become independent from this village again.
