Daknam is a former municipality in Belgium. In 1977 it merged with the city of Lokeren. The river Durme rises at the confluence of the Moervaart with the Zuidlede.
Apart from the Durme, then an important thoroughfare, there are already traces of a Gallo-Roman settlement. In the Middle Ages it was elevated to a parish, probably due to the influence of the counts of Flanders who had a hunt there and a castle, now disappeared. The Lokeren–Zelzate railway, opened in 1866 and now out of use, contributed to the expansion of the municipality.
