Bornem is known of the famous "Dodentocht van Bornem". This hike is in and around the Belgian town of Bornem. This event is organized annually by the local hiking club Kadee on the second Friday of August. The goal is to walk 100 km in the area of Klein-Brabant. The Dodentocht was first organized in 1970. Each year between 8000 and 9000 walk this hike. Particpants are coming from Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, France and Britain.
