Ertvelde was especially known for its dance hall, owned by the Flemish singer Eddy Wally. Wally regularly performed there himself and often invited semi-famous singers, which attracted music fans from all over Flanders. A few years ago, Wally sold the property, and the building was demolished in February 2005.
