Conneux is a place and district of the Belgian municipality of Ciney in the province of Namur. Until 1977, Conneux was an independent municipality, consisting of the villages of Conneux, Conjoux, and Reux.
Conneux has been mentioned in a deed from 747. At that time, it was a Carolingian agricultural estate that was donated to the Abbey of Stavelot. By the latest in the 12th century, the estate was acquired by the chapter of St. John the Baptist in Liège. Until the end of the Ancien Régime, the chapter retained the lower jurisdiction and the right to appoint the parish priest. The higher jurisdiction was in the hands of the Prince-Bishop of Liège. During the French period, Conneux became a municipality, covering an area of over 1500 hectares.
