Wimmertingen Castle is a castle located in Wimmertingen, at Luikersteenweg 741.
The history of the complex dates back to the early 18th century, when Libert Princen was the oldest known tenant of the then castle farm. Through marriage, it came to the Van den Borne family and in 1785, through marriage, to Joannes Henricus Eyben, who was mayor of Wimmertingen from 1805 to 1823. His daughter Anna married Bartholomeus Van den Born in 1820, who also served as mayor of Wimmertingen. Even in later times, there were still lords and ladies of the castle who took on the mayoralty of Wimmertingen, such as Inès de Grady de la Neuville, who remained mayor until the merger with Hasselt in 1977. She passed away in 1998, after which the castle was sold.
