Eernegem is a village in the municipality of Ichtegem, in the Belgian province of West Flanders. Eernegem is located between the centre of Ichtegem and the city of Gistel.
The oldest archaeological traces date back to the Bronze Age and Iron Age. Aerial photographs show the locations of burial mounds from these periods. No remains are known from the Roman period, although the Zeeweg built by the Romans runs close to Eernegem. The north-western part of the territory was still affected by floods, the Dunkirk transgressions
