This place took shape in the 1960s when the original meadow landscape had to make way for a 40-hectare pond, including an uninhabited island, for the construction of the N60. According to legend, a truck got stuck here during the works and is still lying at the bottom of the pit.
In addition to the recreational activities that have been developed here since then, a valuable natural biotope has emerged. Especially in winter, a huge bird population can be found on the ponds. This place was visited by hunter-gatherers more than 10,000 years ago, and the first farmers in our areas also grazed their cattle here.
If you're starting to feel a bit sluggish as well, Den Dronk can offer relief. This tavern is part of The Outsider, an organization that organizes outdoor activities for groups, schools, and associations.
