This nature reserve is located amidst the dunes. It concerns a dune hollow in which a dune pond is located. This body of water is home to a unique fauna and flora. Here, the blue sea thistle, the rare chalk bed straw, and the even rarer lying asparagus grow. Around the so-called 'Salamander Pond', where salamanders and frogs are present, there is also an ideal breeding area for small songbirds. Moreover, one can find here, among others, the heath butterfly and the brown-blue butterfly, two endangered butterfly species that Natuurpunt is desperately trying to save from extinction. Visitors are therefore asked to stay on the hardened paths that cross the area when visiting this reserve.
