The VRT tower is a free-standing tower for radio and television transmission. The tower was built in 1996 in Sint-Pieters-Leeuw in Flemish Brabant. The concrete tower is 300m high, has a diameter of 27m at the base and 1.3m at the top. The tower was erected to improve the reception in Brussels, and the location was chosen so as not to hinder air traffic from Zaventem. The tower was built by the firm Van Rijmenant from Ternat.
