From the 8th century comes the fact that Angela, a noble lady from Brabant, donated the allod (freehold) of Leeuw to St. Peter in Cologne, seven miles long and one mile wide, along with the Mother Church and its nine daughter churches, and the Lord's land and revenues. This text dates back to Bishop Hildebald, 785 - 3 Sept. 819, the full Carolingian period.
