In 1556, the court is described as follows:
"a wine estate with residential houses, barns, stables, and a chapel, the surrounding orchards, meadows, forests, located in the parish of Leeuwe" (84). Among the lease conditions imposed on tenant Jan Heymans in 1556, it states: "And to provide for all necessary repairs of the chapel. And shall also the aforementioned win be yielded and shall be held in the chapel to celebrate three masses every week with a suitable priest" (85). Thus, there was a benefice with three masses per week (not unimportant) attached, just like in Sint-Gorik. In 1628, J. Croes was still the chaplain.
