The South Palace is located between Stalingradlaan and Lemonnierlaan and was built between 1875 and 1880. Today, the South Palace includes several sports halls. The impressive South Palace was constructed along with the Central Boulevards behind it to enhance the prestige of this neighborhood. Just take a look at the gaudy yellow-painted central gallery of the complex: it's a bit bleak and messy.
