The Trench of Death
It consists of two parallel trenches dug in the dike of the Yser over a length of 400 meters. Close to the water is the combat trench, behind it the support trench. You will also find observation and shooting positions, bunkers and at the end of the corridor, the German bunker, the mousetrap consisting of two observation posts (sector of the petroleum tanks and right bank of the Yser) and a few meters behind it a bunker with shooting positions.
The Equestrian Ramp
A real fortress of sandbags on two levels with its machine gun posts, its sniper and observer positions, its signalling post, the underground passage to the actual Trench of Death.
