The Côte d'Aisomont is the northwestern variant of the Côte de Wanne and is the longest, but easiest version of this Côte. The climb starts in Trois-points. Due to the constant gradient, this is a particularly pleasant climb. Ideal for not overloading the engine. But as Hinault once said, every climb is tough; it only depends on the speed at which you tackle it.
The climb starts at the best chip shop in the wide area. Follow the signs to Wanne; getting lost is almost impossible. Along the railway, the ascent is barely noticeable, but at the station, a nice gradient of about 7% kicks in. After the railway, you are also treated to a beautiful hairpin turn as you slowly enter the forest.
The next kilometer requires some effort, but upon reaching the hamlet of Nouprez, it becomes noticeably easier. From here, the road winds gently up through beautiful grassy slopes. With gradients around 5%, you have plenty of time to enjoy the lovely nature. The top is next to the ski slope, a bit past the village of Aisomont.
