The area we are now crossing was created after sand extraction. After the extraction of the quartz sand, the landscape was restored. Shallow puddles formed here and there. So is this fen. You will find a lot of plant species: fountainwort, common water beet and beak sedge. It is also the breeding site of the fin-footed salamander and the hedge frog.
