In this place used to stand a small house with a little field. Afterwards, the plot was forested with larches.
Zientje Heusel lived until 1915 in the Hellegat forest on a patch of land provided by public assistance (now OCMW) at the 'Tombe' in a clay house made of 'plaque and stake'. The little family tried to survive with what nature had to offer them in the forest and by begging. They lived in a dilapidated shack, deep in the forest and content with their fate.
