On the right side, there is a conversion management where large trees of sweet chestnuts are being felled. These are used on site, on one hand as poles and barrels and on the other hand as planks for walkways. Right in front of us, we see the first forest expansions, with spontaneous afforestation primarily of forest willows along the Hellegatbeek, and higher up, the planting of summer oaks and hornbeams.
