The construction of the golf course 'Nieuwe Golf' or 'Golf aan de Lekkerbek' again had a significant impact on the landscape: the area was leveled, sea buckthorn was cut down, water wells were dug, and soil and grass sods were brought in. Nevertheless, the existing relief was still somewhat respected. From the summer of 1929, golf could be played, albeit among the sheep as the area continued to serve as a pasture. The villa 'Het Bronnetje' west of the 'Groenpleinduinen' was used as a clubhouse. Here, golf course no. 18 can be seen. This was cut through after World War II by the construction of the Zwinlaan.
During World War II, the grass sods from the golf courses were used to camouflage positions, and minefields were laid in the golf courses closest to the sea.
