Here you will find, among other things, some large maritime pines, recognizable by their coarse bark, their long needles and huge pine cones. The maritime pine originates from the Mediterranean region and was introduced here from the 19th century because of its rapid growth. The maritime pine often grows remarkably crooked here. The trees in the sandy plain a little further on, have grown up as solitary trees in an open heathland. The wide crowns have grown in all directions. Special are the undergrown pedunculate oaks. They seem to have no tribe; it is buried by the sand. It gives a picture of the sand drifts that took place here in the past.
