The monument is located in Solwaster, at the place called "Gèuetê" on the border of the former municipalities of Sart and Jalhay. It consists of a block of quartzite supporting a twisted propeller, beside which stands a wooden cross bearing the inscription "To the American aviators." The monument was inaugurated in 1947 to commemorate the tragic accident that cost the lives of eight American aviators, whose two aircraft, coming from Bierset, collided in the fog during World War II on April 6, 1945.
