Description

The US Constitution is proudly displayed and visited by thousands of people every year. Rightly so, because a constitution represents the essential values of a country that you don't want to tinker with. So you would think that it would get a proud place in every country. But not in Belgium. Although it was thought for years that the first version of the Belgian constitution was consumed by fire during a fire, it appears to still exist. The handwritten version is in a cabinet of the archives department of the Belgian Chamber of Representatives. During special events, certain pieces of the Constitution may be exhibited, but this is rather exceptional.
