The renovation of the Sint-Remigiuskerk started in 1859 and finished in 1862. The old tower was preserved. In 1900 the tower was raised by seven meters and the church got two aisles. Forty years later, the church was bombed, followed by a repair and an extension with two chapels. The cave was also built then.
