The Sint-Aldegonde church with its walled cemetery was originally a Romanesque hall church. The choir and nave of the present church date from the last quarter of the 12th century. The western tower was built around 1300. Over the centuries, this tower has been modified several times. In 1756 it received its striking Baroque crowning as a result of a lightning strike. At the beginning of the 15th century, the church was extended with a transept in Gothic style.
