This mill is the only one left of five mills that once braved wind and weather in Denderwindeke. The round brick grist mill with gallery dates from around 1790 and was originally owned by miller Pieter-Jan De Smet. The old lower miller's house made way for a new building. Almost 10 meters high, the mill has a basic diameter of 8 meters, the wall thickness at the base is no less than 1 meter. The round hull is decorated with brick frieze. The main drive was originally provided by a mechanical cast iron motive power plant. In 1872 a steam engine was installed as an auxiliary drive that served until a diesel engine was put into service in 1922. During some urgent conservation works in 1991, the 'fled' (the blades) was removed. After a complete restoration, the listed monument was solemnly inaugurated in 2006. The mill is also called the ' Molen ter Zeven Wegen' because seven roads used to come together here. Not to be confused, as often happens, with the circumference of 'seven contractions', the Mill of Seven Woes does not exist... Inextricably linked to the Stone Mill is the neo-Gothic chapel from 1885, the only one near a house.
