The monumental Statue of the H. Hart on the Wijngaardberg is impressively large. The statue of Christ extends his hands protectively over the village. It was the parish community of Wezemaal that erected the statue there in 1926 on the spot where the windmill of Wezemaal used to stand. This windmill was deliberately set on fire by the Belgian troops in the First World War, to prevent the German soldiers from having their viewpoint there.
