In the district of Manewaarde, a farmstead was built around 1630 by Glaude Damas junior. The farm included about 9 hectares of land, forest, and meadow. The arable land was located to the east of the farmstead in an area that had already been cultivated earlier. The farm itself had an area of 2.4 hectares and bordered the heath to the west. Isabella-Theresia Damas, the daughter of Glaude, married Jonkheer Emmanuel De Vulder, lord of Westdijke. They resided at their 'casteelyard' where most of their children were born. A significant part of the heath and the poorest land was afforested between 1733 and 1765. Before 1765, the now-existing straight avenue to Nobelstede was constructed. The castle was purchased by Romaan De Wulf in 1899. He had the castle thoroughly renovated, but its appearance has remained unchanged to this day. He only added a small square tower. The castle is privately owned and not accessible to the public.
