One of the most photographed mills in the world. The mill was built in 1867 on the shore of an old wooden mill. For centuries there was a ban mill here, the fief of which was sold to the city in 1267 by Countess Margaret of Constantinople. An oil butcher's shop is housed in the mill wall. It is a protected monument and is part of the protected cityscape. The mill is open to the public You can visit the mill from April 1 to September 30 on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays from 9:30 to 12:30 and from 13:00 to 18:00. On other days a visit is possible with a guide, with reservation at the Tourist Office of Damme. .
