The old Ferme des Boues, also known as Maison de l’Escaille, was originally a quadrilateral farm dated by an incomplete foundation stone in the 1630s. Built not far from the Grand-Place in bonded Gobertange stone, this long building on two levels and with marked lowering was modified in the 19th century. This conversion work resulted in the building be raised generally in brick and a modification to the pitch of the roof, particularly visible on the gable in the stairwell. After housing successive schools for boys and then girls at the end of the 19th century, as well as the local police station, the building was returned to its use as a dwelling.
