Around the mid-nineteenth century Izegem became known for its brushes. Initially, brush factories produced for the local linen industry. In 1981 a retired brush manufacturer founded the National Brush Museum. Here you can get acquainted with the many kinds of brushes that once existed and still exist today.
The museum also offers educational package deals. For every cycle of elementary school one specific aspect of the museum collection is discussed in a playful and active manner.
