The St. Elisabeth Convent in Kortrijk is one of the best preserved convents in Flanders. Together with 12 other Flemish convents, it has been listed as a UNESCO world heritage site since 1998. The convent in Kortrijk is a walled residential community consisting of 41 houses with a multifunctional community building and a chapel. It was founded in 1238. Its current appearance dates from the 17th century.
