Do you want to know how an anti-clerical builds a church? The Sint-Ritakerk is a prime example of modernism where form takes precedence over everything. It is the only church designed by Léon Stijnen, a top architect in Flanders for modernism. From the outside, the church has the shape of a truncated pyramid without windows. The floor plan is an irregular hexagon. While the church appears rather massive from the outside, upon entering, one becomes disoriented as there is no point of reference to be found.
