Description

The Weaving Route (41 km) explores the region east of Roeselare. It is a voyage of discovery along the surprising green sides of this highly urbanized area. The name refers to the many weaving mills, both home weavers and large companies, that were located in the region at the time.
The starting point of the route is the castle of Ingelmunster. From here, the route leads along the towpath of the Roeselare-Leie canal and the Harelbeek borough of Hulste to the Leie in Ooigem. Then you cycle via Meulebeke and Pittem to the Provincial Domain 't Veld in Ardooie. The way back takes you past Kachtem and Emelgem, boroughs of Izegem.
Sights along the route include the castles of Ingelmunster, Ooigen and Ardooie, the Muizelmolen, the Herentmolen, the sas in Ooigem and the Provincial Domain 't Veld.
