The renovated castle in the provincial domain of Lippensgoed-Bulskampveld has been set up as a nature and regional visitor centre. Active exhibitions invite you to explore the domain and the Houtland. At the desk you can buy tourist publications, borrow fieldwork materials or reserve rooms and/or supervised activities.
On the ground floor of the castle you can find out what there is to do on the domain. Are the foresters at work? Why did owls vomit so much? And whose footprints do they belong to? An interactive exhibition teaches you to recognize trees by their leaves, their buds or their bark. With search maps, thematic nature guides and microscopes, you can do your own research here.
One floor up, you end up back in time, in the salons of the lord of the castle. But it seems as if he also packed his bags. His easels are still there, and so is his armchair. But what is that knight doing there? Who knows? If only the walls could talk! In the heritage room there are beautiful display cases with models of monuments. In some places time stood still, in others it flew by. You can tell by the collection of postcards of the lord of the castle. And apparently he collected a lot more, just look at the cabinet of curiosities.
The visitor centre is the ideal base for exploring the provincial domain and the larger 'Bulskampveld Landscape Park'. Explore the Bulskampveld walking route (9 km) or map out your own route on the walking network. Cyclists can try their hand at the Bulskampveld cycle route (43 km)
