We start at parking 'Aanwijs' on Reigerlostraat in Beernem and cross the N370 or Reigerlostraat to the Vagevuurbossen. The walk is over 9 km long and not suitable for wheelchairs, but doable with strollers.
The Vagevuurbos is 251 hectares large and is managed by Nature and Forest. Together with the nearby Lippensgoed-Bulskampveld (90 ha from the ANB and 287 ha from the province of West Flanders), it forms the largest forest complex in the province of West Flanders (628 ha).
You will find most walkers in the provincial domain Bulskampveld, where a visitor center and cafeteria can be found. In the Vagevuurbossen you will find more peace and 'true' nature experience.
In the Vagevuurbos, significant nature restoration works have been carried out as part of the nature management project Biscopveld.
