Lake Bütgenbach is a Belgian reservoir on the river Warche. The lake is located on the territory of the municipality of Bütgenbach and covers an area of 120 hectares (or 1.2 km²).
The dam was built from 1929 to 1932 and has a height of 23 m. The plant can supply approximately 2.2 million kWh of energy annually and is operated by Electrabel.
The lake is located in the Belgian East Cantons, on the edge of the plateau of the High Fens. It is a tourist attraction for water sports enthusiasts. You can go sailing, windsurfing, kayaking, pedal boating, swimming, sport fishing... Motorboats are not allowed.
