The permission to erect this wooden stake mill was given by Charles VI, Emperor of Austria on October 22, 1735. After its complete destruction during WWI, a mill was transferred from Lauwe and after a complete reconstruction in 1995, the mill is now ready for operation as a corn and bolting mill and oat crusher. It owes its name to the street that connects Wervik with the hamlet of Kruiseke. It is also called 'Claeysmolen' or 'Ma Campagnemolen'. The mill can be visited by appointment.
