The Vesdre Dam at Eupen was completed in 1951 and is the largest dam in the cantons of East Belgium. The reservoir can hold up to 25,000,000 m2 of water. The treated water not only supplies the local region, but also the Herve area and the suburbs of Liège, although not the city of Liège itself.
The Vesdre Dam’s tourist centre is located right on the edge of the dam and offers visitors magnificent views over the dam and nearby forests. The tourist centre is the ideal destination for family excursions or for anyone looking for relaxation close to nature.
Cyclists and walkers who use the cycle and walking paths surrounding the lake are also welcome to visit us. A large playing field is available for young children to enjoy.
