The Korhaan has been one of the oldest protected areas of the Landscape De Liereman since protection began in 1959. The area houses a number of historical treasures and an archaeological site. In the mix of land dunes and marshes, prehistoric humans felt at home. Various artifacts such as hand axes, spearheads, scrapers, ... have been found here. Burial mounds from the Bronze Age have also been excavated.
