La Korhaan est l'une des plus anciennes zones protégées du Paysage De Liereman, avec une protection en place depuis 1959. Le site abrite plusieurs trésors historiques et un site archéologique. Dans l'alternance de dunes de terre et de marais, l'homme préhistorique s'est senti chez lui. Différents objets tels que des haches, des pointes de lance, des grattoirs, ... ont été retrouvés ici. Des tumulus de l'âge du bronze ont également été excavés.
