Château Le Fy was built in 1904-1905 by Paul Saintenoy for Jean-Edouard Jules Van Parys, son-in-law of Ernest Solvay. In 1923, François Paul Lefévre became the owner. He was the Belgian consul in China. From 1930 to 1940, it stood empty. Then the German occupiers took residence. From 1944, American troops were stationed there. In 1951, it was made available to an organization of Father Dominique Pire for the reception of refugees from Eastern European countries.
