The Castle of Beaumont, also known as Petit Bourgogne, is a neoclassical country house located in the Sclessin district of the Belgian city of Liège. The villa, designed by the Liège architect Jacques-Barthélemy Renoz, is part of the protected heritage in the province of Liège.
Until 1768, Sclessin and the nearby Ougrée belonged to the Abbey Principality of Stavelot-Malmedy. When the areas south of Liège along the Meuse were transferred to the Prince-Bishopric of Liège that year, the region immediately became popular among wealthy Liégeois for building their country homes. On May 13, 1775, Maximilien-Henri de Geyer Schweppenburg, a canon of the Saint Lambert Cathedral, purchased a plot of land from Baron Jean-Christian de Goeswin. He likely acted on behalf of the Prince-Bishop of Liège, Franciscus Karel de Velbrück, who allegedly used the residence to meet his mistresses.
