The Société anonyme des Charbonnages de la Grande Bacnure was a coal mining company whose concessions were located on the left bank of the Meuse north of Liège, in Herstal, Vottem, and Liège.
The concession was bordered by that of the Société anonyme des Charbonnages de Bonne Espérance, Batterie, Bonne-Fin et Violette, and that of the Société anonyme des Charbonnages du Hasard.
