The Jain temple of Antwerp is located in the district of Wilrijk. The building has a floor area of 1,000 m² and was put into use in 2010. The construction began in India in 1990 and took about 10 years. Afterwards, everything was disassembled, shipped, and brought to Wilrijk. In 2000, construction began again, and it was rebuilt stone by stone, like a Lego set.
The design is based on that of traditional Jain temples and is made up of blocks of white marble that were first worked on in India before being shipped to Belgium.
